Best Paper Award for FHR scientists Dr. Diego Cristallini and Dr. Ingo Walterscheid

Dr. Diego Cristallini and Dr. Ingo Walterscheid have been awarded with the Best Paper Award at this years’s conference EUSAR in Berlin. With more than 500 participants from over 35 countries, EUSAR is considered to be the major conference on imaging radar.
The FHR scientists Dr. Diego Cristallini and Dr. Ingo Walterscheid received the prize for their paper on “SAR-GMTI enhanced with simultaneous monostatic and bistatic detections“ at the EUSAR (European Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar).
The EUSAR is one of the world’s most important conferences for imaging radar. The 10th EUSAR included 250 lectures, 120 poster sessions and more than 500 scientists from 35 nations participated in Berlin at this year’s conference from June 2 to 6. The Best Paper Award recognizes the most outstanding paper contributing to the conference.
Dr. Diego Cristallini works at Fraunhofer FHR since 2009. He got to know the institute during the 1st International Summer School on Radar/SAR in June 2009. He applied afterwards and began his research at the institute in December the same year. Born in Italy, Dr. Diego Cristallini studied Communications Engineering at the famous university La Sapeinza and wrote his doctoral thesis on multi-channel radar signal processing.
Dr. Ingo Walterscheid works at the institute since 2001. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Siegen. He wrote his doctoral thesis on bistatic SAR at Fraunhofer FHR.
