Chip technology

Thanks to its competence in the area of silicon-germanium chip development, Fraunhofer FHR can develop cost-effective, tailor-made and highly integrated single-chip radar systems for its customers. Frequencies of up to 240 GHz can be realized with these individual radar-on-chip solutions. 

• Individual in-house chip development in cooperation with external manufacturers
• Prober measurement techniques for network analysis and performance measurement up to 500 GHz as well as spectral analysis up to 325 GHz
• Laser cutter for subsequent modification of SiGe circuits using aluminium fuses
• Various wire bonding technologies
• Chip mounting technique with placing accuracy greater than 5 µm
